Make using the Vagrant environment more Windows-friendly

    XMLWordPrintable

    Details

      Description

Currently, the existing Vagrant file can't be used on a Windows host with VirtualBox, as a Windows Host does not support sharing directories via NFS by default.

Instead of hard-coding NFS as the default option for creating shared folders, the VirtualBox shared folder feature should be used. This simply requires installing the VirtualBox guest extensions in the guest system by installing the vagrant-vbguest plugin:

      vagrant plugin install vagrant-vbguest

Also, setting the DISTRO environment variable is done differently using Windows Powershell - the documentation should be extended to include the following example:

      $env:DISTRO="debian"
      vagrant up
